Kulamba ceremony of the chewa speaking people in eastern province has been cancelled this year due to Covid 19 pandemic.

Speaking at a press briefing this morning, on behalf of paramount chief Kalonga gawa Undi, kulamba ceremony chairperson chief Mbangombe says the development has been arrived at to protect the lives of the people.

And chief Mbangombe has urged people to follow all health guidelines on Covid 19.

Kulamba ceremony is an annual traditional ceremony that seeks to preserve the culture of the Chewa speaking people in Eastern province and the neighboring countries namely Malawi and Mozambique. The ceremony is held every year in August
