Youths in Eastern Province and Zambia as a whole have been urged to develop entrepreneurship skills in order to survive the current economic hardships.

Speaking during a call in segment of the Youth Talk Radio program on Feel Free Radio, Samson Saga Banda of Kaulembe in Chipangali District says most youths across the country do not explore means of economic survival.

Mr Banda says this leads them into frustration that ultimately makes them to get involved in illicit activities such as alcohol and drug abuse.

And speaking on the program, Eastern Visionary Youths EVY Executive Director Limbikani Nyirenda said government should consider skills development as one major tool of empowering the Zambian youths.

He says monetary empowerments being dished out across the country cannot yield fruit if the youths are not empowered with enough skills and knowledge to manage resources.

Meanwhile, Mr Nyirenda has called on youths to desist from being used as elements of anarchy and confusion as the country heads to the August polls.
